I took pictures of items around my house and organised them in a colour chart the best I could so it flows. I don’t collect many objects so I opted for single items. Decided to start with a clear wine glass and then turn into the colour yellow and finish with a clear bottle with a black tag so the book kinda starts and ends with the same idea and goes around like the colour wheel some how.

Using LATCH to organise twenty-six of my books. Particularly focusing on ‘A’ and ‘C’ (alphabetical order and categories).
I chose to arrange the books in alphabetical order by title. This way, if there is a specific book that someone wanted to see exists on the list, they would be able to easily find it.
I decided to use categories to present my ‘Favourite play’, ‘Books that changed my life’ and ‘Books you shouldn’t read on the tube’.

Week 1: Jasmine Key
I included the concept on the publication, ideally, I’d like it ring bound so it feels like factual documentation.
I used the ‘C’ from LATCH in the publication to arrange them by materials.

During the live session, we went around individually pitching in our initial idea when it came to the topic of collecting 26 objects. On the top of my mind, I wanted to collect 26 objects from my friends, have them send me a photo and then find relations towards it. I stuck with that idea after.

When refining it, I thought it would be nice to collect items that reminded the individuals of happiness. I gave quite a vague idea of what an object could mean to them, therefore getting a wide variety of things.

I ended up choosing the Location method of organisation, how close each person is from where I lived.

Since all 26 friends collectively are currently at different parts of the world, I thought the idea of making the publication in a way where it mapped the world was appropriate. Thus, the background and the categorisation was based more upon the location grouping. When it came to my own city, Hong Kong, I based it upon how close they were from their house to mine.

Currently quarantined, I am not home but in a countryside house where a lot of things from my childhood and teenage years have been moved (toys, books, clothes…). I created a chronology of my life through these objects. All the images are clickable if you want to take a closer look! or you can access the project presented as a pdf here
a little mock-up as i thought it would make sense printed as a concertina for a frieze/fresco style (but i have no printer right now)
