As my new 13 items that I had to replace with I decided to choose the items that were close to my great grandfather and that belonged to him. I believe having deeper connection with my main ‘character’ in this project would be more interesting.

Week 3 – Curate – Susanna Aurora Montaner Messori
For this week’s task I decided to make 26 different postcards that I then presented in a ‘photo book’. These regard each individual item, showing their picture at the front and their associated memory at the back. I realised that all of the objects I chose bring back good memories of moments I lived, therefore I thought that postcards would be a good way to express this, as when I buy one and look at it after some time I almost get transported back to that place or event. This concept links to the outcome publication I made for the task in week 1, which was based on ‘lost memories’.

I decided to colour code the different postcards to divide them by category and I also created different stamps for each country the objects come from to categorise them by location too. The postcards are shown in chronological order in the ‘photo album’.
If I would have had access to the necessary materials and printing services I would have liked to print each postcard individually and present them inside of a box, as this would allow people to randomly pick one and read it, engaging even more with the work.

Information and Systems final
Brief notes:
Objects on my desk:
What’s next??
The next Task! Swap 13 objects, LETS GO!
The list of the objects:
The illustrated cards:
Using the ranking applied on an actual card playing deck. I used the numbers to classify the objects applying importance and how much Emotional attachment there is to them. for example the Blanket has been my go to object to use during the day to stay comfortable so it’s rank is high, an 8.
Decided to make an actual game using these cards, to pass the time during quarantine!
This is how it looks:
Using the feedback I modified the rules of the card game to make it easier:
For who wishes to play this game feel free to screenshot the dice and cards 😉
week 3 curate LISA
For this week project, I decided to focus on old and new objects. I wanted to to show how time flies and how quickly objects are evolving.
The first objects are those that were used by our parents when they were young, and others are what we are using noway days.
PROCESS
First of all I decided that I will focus on Time and Cathegory.
- Art objects
- Body objects (cloth)
- books
At the beginning I wanted to make an exhibition outside, on a field, on a table in a garage. But, it was raining for 3-4 days in a row.
So, I decided to make a video that would be placed in an exhibition in a museum.
Week 3
Here is a really rough edit of the sort of idea I was going for. The illustrations took much longer than I thought so I missed out 3 so I could still submit some work. I was a bit over ambitious for the timescale.
The idea is that most of the items I have are cards and I thought about how these cards of our lives could be made into playing cards. This also takes into account the theme of anonymity as some cards are hidden in card games. Ideally I would want to exhibit it as a mock up casino but I don’t have those things at home haha.
I’m not happy with the outcome so far and there are lots of things I need to add and change but I still wanted to show some work./
- add sounds and audio
- make the editing smoother and more consistent
- make the colours more consistent

Collect or Consume?
For this weeks outcome, I wanted to reflect, show this objects with another method than a publication, I felt the need to work with another medium and started researching exhibitions, and how can things be exhibited. After my research process, I wanted to challenge myself and experiment with video making methods and decided to make a stop motion video. I choose a dynamic soundtrack for the background and kind of dramatic in a sense to showcase how overwhelming it is that we collect this much, how much we consume and I started wondering if this is simply collection things that we like or are we obsessed with materials?
